2018: "Out with the old in with the...Old?"
So, I guess there's a happy new year that's in order; HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! Good to be here for I am excited to see what this year will bring! I promised myself that there will be no "New Year, New Me" crap, but I couldn't help it. It's not exactly the "New Year, New Me" concept. I am changing little things about myself that I feel will help along my career as a writer. I am still learning on this journey both spiritually and mentally to be a better ME and that's always good. Anyways, I hope the new year is treating you well. I have big plans coming up for the months ahead and I know that if you're reading this, you are pretty interested in what I have to say, or better, write. Believe me, I thank you.
This month I am planning something different that involves close interviews with three artists: a photographer, a cartoonist, and a writer. Now before anyone tries me about saying writers are not the artist can lick my ass because I find that further from the truth. Writers are known for transforming your images into a multi-purpose, fictional world; all while triggering your feelings and emotions to bond with its characters to make you want to question your reality. I know that was a mouth full to say but it was necessary. We form works of art with words instead of a photograph or a paintbrush.
The three men that are being interviewed are all dear to me and are some of the most innovative people I know. Sad, right?
This blog is special because one of the artists is my big brother and I will explain on the blog why my brother is one of the biggest inspirations to me. The second guy that I am interviewing about their art is my very own best friend in the entire world! He is incredible and just downright a rare human being, which is why he I asked him for this favor. Finally, there's my recently found friendship with the lovely Abubakar Wasiu Sheyi. He found me in a writing group on Facebook where I post my page, "True Love Never Comes Twice" to gather some feedback on my writing. He told me he loved my writing and we have had great conversations ever since (pat on the back for making new friends Tricia, yes!).
This blog will not be posted until February 16th. I thought it would be an early gift to myself to post it before my birthday. It's going to feel good finishing something, ON TIME and on a fixed deadline. I am thinking before that, I will post my next chapter in my Facebook series. Please make sure you check it out if you haven't already done so. I am now on chapter thirteen and have no intentions of stopping. The feedback is awesome, and it is pushing me to BE a better writer I think. That is all I have for now. Hope everyone is feeling well and striving to become a better version of yourself each day.
Stay Positive. Stay Focused. Vibrate Higher. Yours Truly, Tricia B.
