How Long Is Too Long?

Sometimes I can’t help but to wonder, how long can one go without sex before you declare themselves insane? We are in an era where not only does sex sells, but it’s also a commodity. We are constantly reminded these days that pussy is no longer a privilege. You can see it anywhere on IG or the internet, or, if you’re really thirsty, you can buy it to see it on a girl’s private Only Fans page. Where does the act of “just” sex and love collide? Is it in the far off future when we’re all tired and used up? Or, is it when two people are tired and begin to think for themselves and say hey, love isn’t too bad? Oh, all the questions!

I have been in L.A. for a year now and only gotten lucky once. It was a moment in my life where I wish I could forget it all; including ever meeting the guy. I’m not sure if I was desperate or lonely. Maybe both! Either way, the guy still can say he “hit” (even though he missed) where I must live with the sheer disgusted memories of a cheap motel and liquor. I swear, you should see the scowl on my face as I am writing this. Ladies, have you ever had that one partner you wish you could forget? I think we’ve all been there. Since that time, I have been a little more diligent when choosing my men. I pick up and listen to red flags ( that are do-able), I ask more straight forward questions and then I shut the fuck up. I am an observer by nature and that comes with good listening skills. When you let people talk enough, they’ll let you know their intentions with you. It never fails. That’s why most of the people I’ve talked too have never made it pass that stage, TALKING! It can be a bit of nightmare, especially when you’re twenty-six with no relationship experience. I’ve been told that “Lost” Angeles isn’t exactly the place for dating, only business. L.A. people are too busy to have a full on relationship and balance trying to get ahead in their careers. I call bullshit! The truth is, if you don’t fit the mold of L.A.’s “look” even by the slightest, dating can be a bit of a challenge. I will say this till the day I die, no one is ever that damn busy. People will make time for the ones that matter.

Even though stepping out more would seem to be the solution to meeting more people, it doesn’t seem to be the case anymore. It’s like everyone has social anxiety combined with the fear of rejection. I don’t see guys walking up to women anymore asking to get to know them. “Aye, um, can I have your number. Maybe get to know you a little better?” It just doesn’t happen as often anymore. We often find ourselves being stuck in the same loop of dealing with old flames from our past because we know what to expect. Getting to know someone new can be exciting yet a bit annoying. Asking all the same odd questions again to get to know one another, teaching them how to love you, explaining your likes and dislikes. It can all be get exhausting, especially if you’ve been dating around for a while. It’s easier to go back to the person that knows how to please your body. Sex, is on everyone’s mind. Getting to know each other comes second.

I know a year seems like a long time, and trust me a year without any intimacy of any kind, is. But, when you’re forced to face your own demons, your shadow self and all that you have ben lacking and needing to improve upon, there will be some sacrifices. Of course I’ve had the urge to just pull anyone aside and just cut to the chase to get my rocks off, but, I was never that type of girl. Nevertheless, that’s just me. I hope this isn’t same old sad story for my readers. I actually hope that my ladies and men are getting satisfied on the regular. So please, I want to know. How long is too long when going without sex? Let me know. Until next time…
